Cae Post has purchased a new paper shredder to help cope with the demand for its services.
As well as a range of trade waste and recycling services, Cae Post offers confidential shredding to householders, offices, businesses and charities, to help them deal safely and securely with unwanted paper documents and CDs. In order to handle the growing demand for this service, Cae Post has invested in a new high-speed paper shredder.
The new shredder will take 120 sheets at a time, has an automatic feed conveyor, so nobody has to get anywhere near the cutting blades, and will shred 25,000 sheets per day.
Sue Packer, Cae Post General Manager, said: “This is a really great piece of kit, which has enabled us to massively increase the amount of paper we can shred each day. It is also safer because of the automatic feed conveyor, which means our volunteers and employees don’t need to get too near the cutting blades.
“Cae Post provides opportunities for people in our community facing the most significant barriers to jobs and skills. The confidential shredding service provides just one of the solutions to finding suitable activities to meet the needs of individuals within our community. But this is not all; it also helps the wider business community to meet their requirements under the Data Protection Act, as well as helping individuals to protect themselves against identity theft.”
The Data Protection Act states that data should be:
- kept for no longer than is absolutely necessary
- handled according to people’s data protection rights
- kept safe and secure.
Confidential shredding is just another of the ways in which Cae Post continues to work with the community to find ways to meet both its social and environmental objectives.
For just £4.50 per sack plus VAT, Cae Post will provide the sacks, security tags, delivery, collection and destruction of confidential documents. There is no minimum quantity and we will arrange delivery and collection to suit your organisation.
Cae Post operates to the Information Destruction Code EN15713 and our staff undertake checks by the Disclosure Barring Service to ensure their suitability to work with vulnerable adults and confidential information. When shredding is complete, we provide customers with a certificate of destruction.
