Work at Cae Post
If you would like to work at Cae Post, you will find our current vacancies listed on this page below.
If there are no suitable vacancies listed you might like to consider volunteering for us.
People like working at Cae Post so, unfortunately, for those looking to gain employment, vacancies do not occur very often but when they do they are advertised on this page.
The good news is that we do run 26 week work placements twice a year for four individuals. This is an opportunity predominantly for those who have never worked – but not exclusively. It can also be for those individuals who have been out of employment for a period of time through illness, conviction or any other factor that has prevented them from being able to join the working world.
The 26 week programme provides you with an opportunity to learn work skills from communication and listening, financial management, health and safety qualification, vocational training and certificated skills such as fork lift truck driving.
You will be given the opportunity to work as a recycling operative – on the sorting line, in the baling area or out on our collection rounds.
However paid employment isn’t all we can offer, as there are always volunteering opportunities here at Cae Post.
Volunteering with Cae Post can be very rewarding as you will be able to put you knowledge and experience to good use, helping us to develop our services.
You may be aware of the BBC 1 Radio Volunteering initiative running at the moment where they are aiming to achieve 1 million hours of volunteering in a year. Currently our volunteers are clocking up nearly 8,000 hours a year and they have been doing this constantly for the past 13 years. By comparison this doesn’t sound much but remember we are a small enterprise based in Mid Wales so we think this is something to be proud of. But equally we realise we can do more.
Volunteers can undertake a wide variety of tasks within the organisation:
- Supporting and job coaching
- Social media and IT support
- Cleaning both on and off site
- Litter picking
And if you can’t see anything there to interest you, but believe you have a skill that would benefit us, then why not suggest it?
Why bother to volunteer?
We believe that everyone can play a role in their community and should have the chance to participate. We know that people can experience social isolation and inequality within their communities and we think volunteering can help to reduce this.
Volunteering can help to improve health and well-being and make people feel good about themselves, build confidence, self-esteem and motivation, as well as provide tangible skills that employers recognise.
Volunteering can be a good way to make new friends, it can be enjoyable and help to break down barriers as well as providing you with something different to put on your CV to help you stand out from the crowd.
By volunteering with a social enterprise you will be working alongside others who are passionate about what they do. You will gain an understanding of why business doesn’t have to be all about shareholders and profit, that the really important thing in life is to be treated as a human being and valued for who you are. Everyone has something to offer and we should all be helping to break down society’s barriers.
So if you would like to volunteer with us, we can guarantee you a warm reception, a friendly smile and the opportunity to do something that matters. Contact Les Jacks today on 01938 570426.
